New Flat Roof Rudgwick, West Sussex

The existing flat roof covered the front of the customer’s garage and entrance porch on there property in Rudgwick. The flat roof membrane was felt and had started to leak in the garage section. The customer wanted the flat roof membrane replaced with a high quality, long lasting alternative so the single-ply DuoPly fleece reinforced EPDM new flat roofing membrane fitted the bill perfectly.

The approved contractor removed and disposed of the existing flat roof membrane and deck. The existing flat roof was insulated using a cold roof construction so no additional insulation was required.  They then installed a new structural deck and installed the DuoPly EPDM single ply fleece reinforced new flat roof membrane.  Finally, they installed the black metal edge trims and replaced some uPVC guttering to the main house which was also leaking.

New Flat Roof Southwater

New Flat Roof Southwater

A large village in the Horsham district of West Sussex. Southwater has become increasingly popular, close to towns such as Horsham and Crawley. Perfectly located for trips into the country and an easy run to the coast – what’s not to like! Significant investment in Southwater since 2006 has also made it an attractive area to settle and recent housing developments has ensured to increase the population of the local area.

Single-storey extensions and attached garages are very evident in Southwater. They are a modern solution to the demands of 21st Century living. Yet for all their mod cons, many of these modern properties suffer from leaking flat roofs and constantly need repair. The demand for new flat roof Southwater has risen greatly in the previous months.

And of course, at this time of year there is a tendency to start looking a little more closely at our fuel bills and finding ways to make our homes more heat efficient. Roofing and good insulation is one of the most significant ways in which you can cut fuel bills. That’s why, if you need to replace your flat roof system, we highly recommend that you consider DuoPly EPDM.

Yes, you may well wonder what it is – after all, felt roofing would probably be the obvious choice, but DuoPly EPDM is superior for many reasons, including energy efficiency. Its dark colour is perfect for our climate, absorbing any available heat. But also, with good insulation EPDM will help you reduce you energy bills because there is less chance of warm air escaping. So being able to turn down your heating thermostats a few notches has to be a rather attractive thought, especially as we prepare for the cold winter months.

Why a DuoPly EPDM new flat roof is perfect for period properties in Guildford, Surrey

The county town of Guildford has a very large number of Victorian and Edwardian properties of red brick and/or flint construction with lovely period features, including sash windows, gable fronted roofs, adjoining box gutters and original slate roofs.

A common addition to many smaller period properties is a new flat roof extension. Mid terrace and semi detached Victorian properties were traditionally only 2 bed and 2 reception rooms and often prove too small for modern family living. Flat roof extensions are typically constructed in red brick to match the original property walls with a felt or similar material flat roof. The real challenge is to make these modern additions blend in with the existing building.

The DuoPly fleece reinforced EPDM roofing membrane is the perfect flat roofing solution for period properties. The slate grey colour blends beautifully with the existing period construction.

Another great use for the DuoPly EPDM  roofing system is for lining existing roof box gutters between properties. With a proven life span of in excess of 50 years, it’s a far more cost effective solution than lead and also as it has no scrap value meaning no concerns  over potential theft which is so sadly becoming common place these days.
